The Time Team are pleased to announce that they will be staging two history talks presented by well-known local archaeologists in the next few months at the Community Centre.
On May 31st Simon Tomson who led our training course ‘Introduction to Archaeology’ and the very successful follow-on excavations in the grounds of Monk Fryston Hall returns to the village to speak at the Community Centre.
His illustrated talk ‘New Views from the Air of Lincolnshire Archaeology’ will highlight some new discoveries from aerial archaeology.
On the 26th July Dr Jon Kenny, the well-known local Community Archaeologist who has led excavations in Cawood, Wheldrake, North Duffield, Fulford and Hemingbrough, will speak on ‘Living on the river banks; new discoveries of Romano British and Iron Age Settlements in the Vale of York'.
Both talks start at 7.30pm and members of the Public are welcome to attend. £3 including refreshments.
