One thing not mentioned in the Beer Fest report is that we were very grateful to be able to use gifts from residents to help stage this event.

For many years Markus and Lesley Perfect-Rasche have allowed us to use their Marquees along with those owned by Max and Maria Leighton and Neil and Sue Woodall; we thank them for their support.

This year Markus and Lesley, very kindly offered us a cache of 80 champagne flutes and 40 wine goblets, along with other decorative materials. So, it’s likely that the non-Beer and Cider drinkers at the BF were enjoying their tipples courtesy of their generosity.

In addition, Hillam residents Brian and Wyn Carrier offered and we accepted a wonderful, lovingly cared for and looked after, gazebo. It made a brilliant base for the face painter at the event and was in non-stop demand on Saturday afternoon.

Finally, MF resident and School parent, Ryan Geldard answered our call for BF help and support by getting the company he works for; Lift and Locate to not only sponsor the Beer Fest but also to offer us chairs and tables which they held in storage and were about to dispose of. Our response was a very rapid yes please. This offer filled a big hole as since the last BF in 2019, one of our major ‘suppliers of furniture’ Ledsham Fayre, which ended in 2018, had disposed of everything.

This wonderful news - a problem solved - was then made even better when the company offered to donate the furniture to us for future community use - brilliant news!

Many thanks to Markus, Lesley, Brian, Wyn and Ryan for your very kind and generous support and gifts - we’ll do our best to make best use of them in the future.
