The Time Team are holding 2 walks during the early summer on a first come first served basis. The walk is a new route and will contain new information from research undertaken during the Pandemic.

  • Have you recently moved into Monk Fryston, or for that matter Hillam, Burton Salmon or another local village?
  • Have you marvelled at the many attractive ancient buildings?
  • Perhaps you have wondered why Monk Fryston is where it is, or why there is such a bad bend on the A63?
  • Perhaps you simply want to know more about the place where you live or drive through every day?

Whether you recently moved here or not; after a lapse of three years the Time Team history group of Monk Fryston, Hillam and Burton Salmon is pleased to announce that their very popular Guided History Walks around Monk Fryston will recommence this summer.

The walks, lasting approximately 1hr 30 minutes are free but must be booked in advance, on a first come first served basis. Places are limited to 20 for each walk.

The walks will start on the Monk Fryston / Hillam boundary by the flag pole at the T junction of Mill Close and Lumby Hill on Sunday 26th June at 4pm and on Tuesday 19th July at 10am - please arrive 15 minutes beforehand.

To book a place: call Ray or Sue Newton on 01977 682084 or send an email to e_ [email protected]
