Busy lives … sometimes too busy!
Can You remember the Queens Platinum Jubilee Weekend? It was only 2 months ago and a fabulous 4 days of village celebrations in which the CA played a full part.
Next up is the Beer Fest on September 16th and 17th … after a gap of 3 years due to ‘you know what’ we’re back and looking forward to restarting where we left off – and – to help things along despite inflation ticket prices are the same – advance purchases from the Post Office are just £5 for a full weekend’s entertainment or £7.50 on the gate. Staging this fund-raising event – any surplus is shared equally between the school PTA and supporting the running costs and development of the Community Centre and Playground - event depends upon the help of a lot of volunteers.
CAN YOU SPARE A FEW HOURS?
If you can please contact us via [email protected] or via our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MFHBeerfans
The Marquee Team
Readers who are familiar with the Beer Fest will know that the Community Centre will be transformed and become a Marquee Village. We will be erecting 10 marquees and so is a big effort – but it is to ensure that even if it rains the event can go ahead undercover.
A new team has been formed to do the work and its benefit was demonstrated at Queens Platinum Jubilee when despite very wet weather ‘the show went on’ and over 300 people plus children had a very enjoyable time. The Beer Fest is a really big job really – so if you want to help – please come to the Community Centre at 5pm on Thursday 15th September.
Community Centre Developments
We have a list of things to do – but finding time to do them properly, as you can only spend hard earned money once, has been challenging given the preparation for our Events. We are progressing with sourcing the Air Source Heat Pump and have plans to do several pieces of work by the autumn but we could do with some help. If you would like to join the Community Centre Development Project Team please contact Ray Newton, Facility Manager at [email protected]
The next major CA matter will be holding the AGM. The date, yet to be agreed, will take place in the Autumn. This is when annual reports are shared with CA members, a new chair is elected and a third of Trustees have to step down and new elections of Trustees who serve a 3-year term are held by members. Notification of the date and location of the AGM will be posted on Parish Council notice boards, The Community Centre notice board and members will be notified directly. If you would like to become a CA member, please contact the CA secretary Caroline Mitchell [email protected]
